Office Visits

Initial Consultation

stock photo young woman and girl Your first visit to our office will give you the opportunity to meet our team as well learn more about orthodontics. An exam that consists of diagnostic records is made to determine the best course of treatment. Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, clinical examination, digital photos of the patient’s face and teeth, and digital X-rays. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.

After Dr. Elvebak has evaluated your records, we discuss your treatment with you in detail, including the cost for your particular case.

What happens next?

After you and the doctor have agreed on the best treatment option for you, we will schedule your first appointment. The appointment when you get your appliance (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour. At this appointment, our team will make sure to answer any questions you may have as well as go over proper care instructions before you leave the office.

Regular appointments

Once your appliance is in, you’ll see us at regular intervals, usually 6 to 10 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 30 minutes. Patients are seen by appointment only. We pride ourselves on running on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. However, we understand life doesn’t always run as planned, so if you are running late or cannot make an appointment, please notify us immediately and we will do our best to accommodate you.
